The Department of Chemistry offers B.Sc. Chemistry course which was commenced in our college long fifty years back, in 1969, under the Headship of Shri. K. Ayyappan Nair with mathematics and physics as subsidiary subjects. The sanctioned annual intake for B.Sc. Chemistry is currently 32 but as per the direction of Govt. of Kerala it is enhanced to 48. Chemistry is one of the most sought subjects in our College. The department aims at imparting best education to students which leads to their personality development and guides them to interesting career. A strong, sincere and committee team of teachers with good reputation leads the academic activities of the department. The faculty members engage actively in research, as reflected in their profiles as well as in effective teaching, as reflected by the profiles of outgoing students. The alumni association “Carbon” actively involves in the growth and development of the department.
